Dame Pauline Green receives Rochdale Pioneers Award

Dame Pauline Green was presented with the Rochdale Pioneers Award at the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA) Global Conference in Antalya, Turkey, on November 13. The award recognises contributions that significantly benefit the co-operative movement.

“I am genuinely honoured to feel part of a movement. Always difficult to say goodbye, especially to family and the worldwide co-operative movement has been like family over the past six years. I am very proud of what we have done together. I am full of hope for the future when I realise what we can achieve going forward, particularly when we work together” said Pauline Green during her acceptance of the award.

Pauline Green was the first female President on the ICA in its 114 year history.

The many achievements during Green’s mandate include leading the United Nations International Year of Co-operatives in 2012, launching a global strategic plan for growing co-operative movement and a global co-operative identity program.

CMC President Jack Wilkinson thanked Pauline Green for her leadership on behalf of 30 members of the Canadian delegation during the ICA Annual General Meeting.
